Elements of Metalworking Theory
A concise textbook which provides an up-to-date account of the basic principles of metalworking theory which are necessary for an understanding of industrial processes. An attractive feature of this book is a chapter giving full descriptions of illustrative experiments on rolling, forging, drawing, extrusion and cutting. The experiments include measurements of forces, choice of tools and pass visualization techniques with outline suggestions for many more. In addition many numerical examples are given with complete solutions so that the book can be used as a self-tuition manual as well as a formal teaching text in undergraduate courses.
Copiously illustrated with line diagrams and halftones, this short text will be an ideal complement to Professor Rowe’s major work, now in its second edition, "Principles of Industrial Metalworking Processes" (Arnold, 1977).
