Secretarial Management A Guide To The Effective Use of Staff
The secretarial team is universally acknowledged as having an indispensable part to play in the conduct of business in government, industry and commerce. In spite of technological advances in the field of ‘word processing’ and micro filing for example, human resources remain the major element in providing satisfactory secretarial services. The aim of this book is to help administrators and executives so to view the secretarial function within their own departments or organizations that they will begin to develop their secretarial staff into such a team.
“Secretarial Management” is divide into 2 parts:
1st is intended for the trainee manager, or the newly appointed manager, who finds himself or herself having to recruit secretarial staff for the first time, while the second part seeks to show how experienced executives can make the best use of the present secretarial resource.
2nd The ‘real’ secretary today is, in fact, a manager. The management function of getting things done by other people to meet predetermined objectives, forms a major part of much high level secretarial work, although the fundamental organizational/administrative aspect of the secretarial role tends to eclipse the managerial aspect.
